This work belongs to a series based on iconic portraits and is a very free interpretation of a self-portrait by Egon Schiele.
Here the aim is to stylize and simplify; the background is reduced to a flat color blot, the clothing is resolved in an abstract and gestural way.
Conceptually, my textures seek to generate a certain movement associated with the idea of variations that forms undergo when observed over a period of time, and to capture that feeling of inner latency that we instinctively perceive in something alive.
As is customary given its large format (XXL), for its own protection, it is shipped unframed, rolled inside a tube. The canvas has overall approximate dimensions of 134x114 cm.
