AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

MIDNIGHT MARTINI is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado inspired by the sophistication of classic cocktails, retro tropical aesthetics, and the carefree glamour of nights by the sea.

The work features a martini glass transformed into the absolute protagonist of the composition. The suspended olives, the ocean horizon, and the palm trees cut against a vibrant sky evoke the relaxed atmosphere of coastal bars, legendary hotels, and long summer nights that seem to stretch beyond time.

Through an intense palette dominated by bright reds, electric blues, warm yellows, and contrasted blacks, the artist builds a visually striking image that conversations with vintage poster art, advertising illustration, and the graphic language of Pop Art. Expressive lines and large flat color fields provide clarity, dynamism, and a strong decorative presence.

Beyond the depiction of a drink, MIDNIGHT MARTINI celebrates the rituals of gathering, the pleasure of conversation, and those suspended moments in which the night seems to promise infinite possibilities. The work captures an atmosphere of relaxed elegance, nostalgia, and escapism.

With a clearly retro character and vibrant visual energy, this piece adds color, sophistication, and personality to any art collection or contemporary space.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
