ABOUT:
This silkscreen, "Modular Sound and Vision", takes its name from the David Bowie song "Sound and Vision" and from the gift of sound and vision that he embodies. This piece is based on a piece from my solo show MODULAR FREQUENCY, which features my explorations of distillation and synthesis, combining images, symbols and text interwoven into geometric compositions. Bowie is one of my favorite musicians and has created his music and his visual presentation with equal brilliance. Music has always been a source of inspiration for me, as a democratic medium that can bring joy but also convey provocative and engaging social commentary. I hope this new series engages viewers in an aesthetic “frequency,” drawing them into an ideal rhythm and harmony that celebrate courageous thinkers and artistic icons like David Bowie.
