AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Carlo Casanova was born in Crema in 1871 and died around 1950. After graduating in engineering, he devoted himself with exceptional results to painting, not neglecting engraving and drawing. Already from the end of the nineteenth century he specialized in photography, leaving an important repertoire of portraits and landscapes. He exhibited at the Brera and Venice Biennials, but also in Rome, Barcelona, Athens, etc. His works are exhibited at the GAM of Milan and the Uffizi, but also in Rome, Turin, Tokyo. The work in question is a watercolor in excellent condition, signed at the bottom left, portraying a landscape with a barely sketched waterfall, with almost abstract results. The visible dimensions are 27x17 with a frame 40x30. The frame on the back shows inactive woodworm damage and comes from a private collection.
