Two-volume hardback set Spain by Albert F. Calvert, first edition published by J. M. Dent & Sons in 1911, in English, with Pelle leather bindings and 895 pages across two volumes, featuring around 1,700 illustrations including 46 colour plates.

A very RARE and beautiful 2 set volume on.."Spain".. by Albert F. Calvert with over Seventeen Hundred Illustrations including Forty-six Coloured Plates. J. M. Dent & Sons, Ltd. 1st edition. London, 1911. Complete in 2 volumes: xxvii, 463, [1]pp.; xix, 465-895, [1], 28 pages, b/w illustrations + 46 colour plates. A comprehensive survey of historical, artistic, and archaeological monuments from across Spain and an important album of Spanish views and sights. With chapters on the different cities and towns featured. Written by Albert Frederick Calvert, an English author, engineer, and explorer active in Australia. With colour plates from paintings by Arthur Trevor Haddon, a British painter and illustrator. Solid ex-library hardback bindings with gilt lettering to spine, library bookplate to front free endpaper of each volume and usual rubber stamps to many pages and plates on margins. Small restored tears to margin of a few pages in volume 2 at beginning. Generally clean interior with occasional light marks/soiling to a few pages- especially last pages of vol 1 on a corner. A few pages with a little wear from adhesion of pages-see photos. Overall very good condition. Scarce Heavy set.
