Doctrine de Saint-Simon by Saint-Simon, a French 1830 publication of 439 pages in half‑leather binding (21 cm × 13.5 cm), published in Paris by Au Bureau de l'Organisateur; A. Mesnier, an other edition.
Description from the seller
Historically significant political-philosophical volume "Doctrine de Saint-Simon. Exposition. Première année. 1829", published in Paris in 1830 by Au bureau de l'Organisateur as an exclusive second edition. This crucial work represents the comprehensive theoretical foundation of utopian socialism and Saint-Simonianism, primarily compiled and edited by the leading French social reformers social reformers Saint-Amand Bazard and Barthélemy Prosper Enfantin. The book details revolutionary ideas on the reorganization of industry, the abolition of hereditary privileges, the emancipation of women, and a new religious framework for modern society.
Bound in a period half-leather binding with gilt-embossed spine bearing the title, paired with marbled paper boards. Reflecting its age of nearly two centuries, the copy shows natural historical patina and several signs of wear: the paper covers are scuffed along the edges and corners, and there is a vintage paper loss on the back cover. The interior text block is fully complete but loose at the front and rear inner hinges, showing splits to the binding paper. The pages remain in firm condition for their age; however, from page 257 to page 344, there is a more prominent, distinct liquid stain along the lower and outer margins of the sheets. Occasional light foxing (age spots) is also present. The condition is fully documented in the attached photographs.
The book will be very carefully packaged and shipped promptly via a reliable international courier.
