Subdial: Off-center subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, with a perimeter scale of 10 in 10 seconds.
Hands: Thermally blued steel Hands. Time hand of Breguet (or eye) type modified and a lancet minute hand.
Bezel and Case Middle: Exhaustive peripheral decoration with punch-engraved vegetal motifs, scrollwork and volutes inspired by Modernist/late Art Deco.
Crown: Onion-shaped crown with a knurled edge and a matching decorative bow to the case middle.
Context: The brand "Hartford" on the dial typically denotes a mark registered by Swiss manufacturers (or American importers of Swiss movements) for the Anglophone market during the early decades of the 20th century.
Rarity: Scarce in its aesthetic configuration; the value of the piece lies in the lavish ornamentation of the case middle and the distinctive design of its engraved dial, highly representative of the transition between Art Nouveau and Art Deco.
