G. Capelletti - VENICE DESECRATED

VENICE DESECRATED is a sculpture that tells a wound: a broken wooden arch, carved by sharp geometries, that evokes a city consumed by excess and the onslaught of time.
The inner band, dark and punctuated by regular segments, recalls an order long violated, like an ancient structure that resists even though it has been traversed by foreign forces.
The whole conveys a sense of compromised beauty, of broken balance, as if Venice were still there, recognizable, but deeply altered.
