Description from the seller
Black and gold McCaviar cone with a black and white straw in a boxed frame for wall presentation by XTC.
Détournement of the McDonald’s cone, into pills to represent addiction.
This is not a cardboard McDo cone; it was created from plastics and painted by XTC.
The frame is part of the artwork. It comes with a plastic glass; you can display it with or without, as in the first and second photo.
Signed and numbered 1/20 on the back, Certificate of Authenticity (COA) provided.
(The copy sent is not necessarily the one in the photo).
Careful, tracked shipping.
Born in 1978 in the heart of France, XTC shaped his artistic universe through his interest in Design, Pop Art, and more recently Street Art. This visual exploration turned into a passion that was to be realized.
XTC defines himself as a self-taught visual artist, aligning with the Pop Art movement, through the détournement of contemporary consumer goods.
His creativity expresses itself through the bold staging of icons of popular consumption (such as McDonald’s, Malabar, Chupa), which he makes clash with the world of luxury (including Chanel, Hermès, Veuve Clicquot champagne, or caviar) and Street Art, further blurring the already delicate boundaries between these worlds.
He expresses his art through sculpture, mixing painting with all kinds of resins, plastics, and sometimes minerals.
He draws inspiration, among others, from Banksy, Keith Haring, Orlinski, Andy Warhol, Obey, advertising and addictions in general.
All possible defects or imperfections are an integral part of the work.
