Description from the seller
I am offering for auction a very fine and superb 20th century oil on canvas titled A Spanking Breeze, by listed artist Jenny Morgan, born 1942. Signed bottom right. Jenny Morgan’s works make very good prices at international auctions. This is a prime example of the artists works.
Condition of the painting is good. Please view all pics for accurate condition. Ready to hang.
"Jenny Morgan studied at Camberwell College of Art in the 1960’s before travelling extensively as she gained a sound knowledge of the sea and ships. Her work emotively responds to the untamed element of the sea and its inspiring changing moods. Accurate portrayal of ships - from fishing trawlers, to tall ships, and classic yachts - is as important to Jenny as the more random freedom of moving water in creating overall composition.
Working mainly in oils, but sometimes using gouache on heavy paper - and always using brushes - Jenny uses research material to work up sketches, then transfers those ideas onto canvas.
Jenny is a Member of the prestigious Royal Society of Marine Artists, and won the Classic Boat Award 2021 at the R.S.M.A's annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London".
Please note. Due to the fragile nature of old frames and glass, our shippers do not provide insurance for any damage caused during transit. We go to great lengths to ensure each painting is packed and protected to a very high standard but sadly cannot compensate or refund for any damage occurring to frames or glass during transit. Therefore the frame and any glass is a gift to you with zero value and you are bidding on the artwork only.
Due to Brexit, there are delays at EU customs borders though the situation is improving. Please do not blame me for delays or any customs duty payable. I really appreciate your understanding and patience. Steve.
