Description from the seller
A classic, antique/vintage wooden sewing box (thread box or needlework organizer) with a bohemian elegance, with an accordion system that can be opened in stages using the wooden hinges on the sides. This type of storage was traditionally used for the organized storage of threads, needles, buttons, scissors and other sewing supplies.
Main features and construction
Accordion (split-open) mechanism: The box consists of several levels. When the two upper lids are opened, the mechanism slides the drawers to the sides, making all storage compartments accessible at once and easily.
Decoration: The lower part features an elegant, hand-carved baroque or neo-baroque style vine-tulip decoration, which makes it unique and decorative.
Material: Darkly stained, varnished hardwood (often oak or beech), with robust turned handles on the lids and a fixed, solid carrying handle on the top. When opened, it is approximately 130 centimeters wide.
It is in good condition with minor signs of use.
We can post it carefully packaged, in an insured, registered package.
