Frame- guilloché - Wood - guilloché cornice

Refined guilloché frame in ebony-stained wood, a typical example of artistic cabinetmaking of European craftsmanship (widely found in Italy and Central Europe) dating from the mid-20th century. It features a distinctive continuous wavy geometric pattern (also called 'guilloché'), obtained with special mechanical lathes or carved moldings that simulate waves or rhythmic undulations on the surface of the black-stained wood to imitate the precious ebony (ebonized wood).
The multi-level structure is enhanced by four symmetrical walnut burl inserts placed on the sides, creating an elegant chromatic contrast between the warm tone of the wood and the deep black of the ebonized profile.
External dimensions are about 50x60 cm, while internal are about 30x40 cm; see the photos for the dimensions and also for the condition.
