Hélène Planquelle – Hold me tight, a 2017 original pencil drawing (Dessin au crayon) of 23 × 23 cm, 0.5 g, depicting a nude figure in a realist style, signed, sold directly by the artist from France, with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Sold with a certificate of authenticity.
Not framed.
Hélène Planquelle is a self-taught contemporary figurative painter whose works explore the delicate balance between pleasure and suffering in our relationship with others, from both an individual and collective perspective, through recurring themes such as emotional dependency, attachment, vulnerability, acceptance and rejection, violence and power dynamics.
Although figurative, her work is conceptual in nature, drawing on a rich ground of philosophical, literary and scientific references, ranging from ethics to social sciences, including attachment theory and evolutionary psychology.
The title of each series, most often a quotation (literary, poetic or philosophical), creates a resonance between each work, thus opening the field of possible interpretations for the viewer.
