Description from the seller
Sapphire ring with Sri Lankan sapphire and pink cut diamonds – likely provenance France, Victorian era, late 19th century. 1870-1890.
Refined ring made in 18 kt gold and silver, embellished with a natural Sri Lankan sapphire in oval cut, surrounded by a crown of natural pink-cut diamonds.
Features a natural untreated Sri Lankan sapphire of 5.20 ct estimated with gemological certification Cisgem attesting origin and naturalness of the sapphire. Natural sapphires are increasingly rare and precious in nature.
26 rose-cut diamonds totaling 0.75 ct estimated at quality.
Weight: 5.28 g
Italian ring size: 11
French ring size: 51
Crown dimensions: 2 cm x 1.9 cm.
The jewelry presents the typical mounting of late 19th-century European jewelry, with the central stone set and surrounded by small pink-cut diamonds mounted in silver, a technique widely used in jewelry of the era to enhance the luminosity of the stones. The lower structure and the shank are instead made in 18 kt gold, in keeping with the traditional gold–silver combination typical of 19th-century jewelry.
The mounting is enriched by an elegant pierced work beneath the central stone and by finely shaped shoulders that confer balance and lightness to the design.
It will be shipped in a gift box with tracked and insured shipping.
An authenticity certificate for the piece will be issued, detailing the characteristics of the stones and gold.
Our shipping costs include full insurance coverage in case of loss or damage of the item and a premium express service since the package is delivered within 24-48 hours, subject to operational contingencies.
