Description from the seller

Fabio Colombo "Milano brutale"

Acrylic on canvas hannemhule 450g - Hand signed - 2023
Unique work

In the series "Edifici Umani" I present contemporary urban visions.
While depicting them I reflect on the future of man precisely starting from his impermanence: the transience of sapiens (never depicted) starkly contrasts with the depiction of these "giants of concrete" that survive their own creator.

The buildings are depicted
with monolithic staticity, as
a sign of permanence relative to
the impermanence of man.
Most of them lose the
details present in the photographs
from which they derive, appearing bare of details and embracing brutalism, rich in the
character of strong impact and
austerity.
The figures are heavy, cold and
unperturbed. Buildings that host, cradle man and
outlive him. And they almost judge him, observing his ephemeral existence with a gaze of granite staticity.
Abstract and minimalist, clean lines and the play of light and shadow create a sophisticated and refined atmosphere, perfect for the most exclusive spaces.
Rich in interiority and multiple levels of reading, it lends environments an orderly and relaxed atmosphere, suitable for meditation and perfect for those who love design.

Fabio Colombo has recently undertaken collaborations with Italian and Swiss Galleries; this painting is sold directly by the artist.
Perfect for those who love introspective minimalist style and the references to artists such as Franz Kline, Soulages, Scanavino, Munari, Banksy, de Andrè, Moby, Verdier, Pollock (all influences of the Genoa-based artist).

Certificate of authenticity included, stamped and autograph-signed.
Framed with a black wooden frame, ready to hang.
The renders are artificially created to offer a view of the work in interior spaces.

Happy bidding to all."
