Jan Krikke (1940) - Veld met klaprozen

Warm colors in the beautiful artwork by Jan Krikke. Krikke was born in 1940 in Meppel. He decided, only later in life, after a career in men's fashion, to become a visual artist. As a visual artist he is self-taught, but he was helped along the way by the painter Tinus Ponne, who was also born in Meppel. Krikke makes paintings, sculptures and plastic objects. He has a studio in the Overijsselse town of Giethoorn. Much of his work can be seen in the public spaces of places in Overijssel and Drenthe. In 2013, in Meppel, as part of Culturele Gemeente in Drenthe 2013-2014, a retrospective exhibition of his work was held.
