Description from the seller
Oliver Ney is a Paris-based visual artist born in 1982. His pointillist works sit at the intersection between street art and pop culture, transforming everyday objects into contemporary, visually striking compositions. Through the creative re-use of common materials, Ney develops an original artistic language that blends urban aesthetics, innovation, and sustainability.
In 2020 he began working with recycled spray can caps, creating his first piece with this technique, titled The Joker. This innovative approach quickly drew the attention of the urban art world and major players in the field, including MTN Colors, a world leader in spray paint production, which highlighted the talent and originality of his work.
Sustainability is a fundamental element of his creative process. The artist collaborates with spray paint retailers, inviting customers to return used caps so they can be recovered and transformed into artworks rather than discarded. Thanks to this initiative, hundreds of caps are collected each month and given a new life through art.
The piece depicted perfectly embodies Oliver Ney’s distinctive technique. Created entirely with 1225 recycled spray caps, the work reproduces the iconic Supreme logo through a meticulous mosaic composition. To achieve an impeccable color rendering and extraordinary visual depth, the artist used more than 30 different shades of red, creating nuances and variations that give dynamism and richness to the entire surface.
This work fuses the language of street culture with the aesthetics of contemporary pop art, transforming a global symbol of urban fashion into a sustainable work of art. Through the combination of recycled materials, compositional precision, and immediately recognizable cultural references, Ney demonstrates how objects destined for waste can become powerful expressive tools.
Inspired by pop culture, its most iconic symbols, and the elements that characterize daily life, Oliver Ney continues to explore the boundary between urban art, consumerism, and sustainability, giving rise to unique works that merge creativity, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
The artwork includes a certificate of originality.
