Description from the seller

WMF – Pair of Art Nouveau Menu Holders – Silver Plated (I/O OX Mark) – Germany, ca. 1900

A charming and highly decorative pair of antique menu holders, crafted by the renowned German silversmith WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik).

These elegant pieces are designed in a refined Art Nouveau style, featuring stylised leaves and berries with flowing organic lines – a typical motif of the Jugendstil period. The sculptural design gives them both a functional and decorative character, perfect for use as menu holders, place card holders or small display stands.

Each piece is marked with the WMF hallmark I/O OX, indicating silver-plated metal (tin-based alloy with silver plating), a well-known production method used by WMF around the turn of the 20th century.

Dimensions (each) approx. :
Height: approx. 7.5 cm
Length: approx. 7 cm
Depth: approx. 1.5 cm
Total weight: approx. 73 grams

Condition:
Good antique condition with normal signs of age and use. Light wear to the silver plating and some patina, consistent with over 100 years of history. This adds to the authentic character of the pieces. Please refer to the photos, which form part of the description.
