Description from the seller
Paolo Contin
Nautilus
Mixed media on canvas - hand-signed - 2026
Original painting sold directly by the artist
The work comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and an authentic signature on the back of the canvas.
Dimensions cm 60 x 60 x 4 - the painting is already mounted and the 4 cm edges replace the frame, so the artwork is ready to hang on a wall without additional costs; therefore the purchaser saves on framing and the frame expense.
Shipments are not accepted to countries outside the European Union due to excessive bureaucratic difficulties and costs.
The artist, distant from schools and trends, creates his works as a free man, following exclusively his own ideals and personal objectives.
In this painting on a textured base the artist has drawn many colored bands of blue and white that open into space in a very harmonious way. The colors as a whole evoke the hues of the seabed, and the colored bands that nearly cross each other, for those with a bit of imagination, vaguely recall 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea' with the Nautilus submarine.
Paolo Contin has had a long artistic career. He trained in the world of design and since 1980 has worked in fashion and art. From 1999 he began to exhibit his works; in 2002 his first solo show in Padua, followed by many exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.
