We present to you an original gouache by the painter and poet Luis Mizón (1942–2022).
Title: Abstract Landscape.
Technique: Gouache on paper.
Period: dated 1991.
Overall size: 31.7 cm x 23.7 cm.
Signed at the bottom right in ink, and dated.
Condition: excellent.
Luis Mizón (1942–2017) was a Chilean poet and painter, born in Valparaíso in 1942. After the 1973 coup d'État, he settled in France, where he developed a body of work marked by exile, memory, and dialogue between Latin American and European cultures.
Spanish-language writer, he composed lyrical and vivid poetry inspired by the landscapes of Chile, nature, myths, and childhood memories. His work as a painter, especially in drawing and watercolor, maintained a close link with his poetry.
Luis Mizón published numerous collections and exhibited in France and abroad. He died in France in 2017. His work remains characterized by a constant dialogue between painting and poetry.
