A very rare limited-edition bottling produced for the winery’s Centenary in 1990. These bottles were never commercially released and were reserved exclusively for loyal customers and corporate commitments. Given its 12 years of cask ageing, this wine would today meet the ageing criteria associated with a Gran Reserva classification under the Rioja Regulatory Board.

Aged in cask from 1978 and hand-bottled in 1990, the wine was then preserved in the historic racks of Bodegas Riojanas. It was originally planned for release as the regular Reserva in 1983, but the finest casks were selected by tasting during the first years and separated for prolonged maturation.

As with the great traditional Riojas of the 19th century, the wine was vinified and matured in wooden vats for 12 to 18 months before being transferred to cask. During the first six years, it was racked every six months by the traditional Rioja cask-to-cask method. Bottling was performed by hand, directly from the barrel, without filtration.
