A pair of large Meiji period Imari porcelain charger plates, 31 cm in diameter and 4 cm high, with blue underglaze, iron-red and gilt fronts and blue-and-white coastal landscapes on the reverses, in very good condition with a short, barely visible hairline on the rim of each plate.

An attractive matching pair of large porcelain Imari charger plates dating from the Meiji period. The fronts feature vibrant, classic underglaze blue, iron-red, and gilt decorations, showcasing alternating panels of floral bouquets and stylized motifs, centered around a circular underglaze blue focal medallion. The reverses are elegantly painted with minimalist blue-and-white coastal landscapes featuring distant mountains, stylized huts, and birds in flight.
