An impressive, large porcelain plate dating from the Meiji period, beautifully decorated in a classic vibrant Imari palette of underglaze blue, iron-red, and highlighting gilt work.

Design & Decoration
Central Medallion: Features a prominent blue jardinière (flower vessel) placed on a veranda, overflowing with a rich arrangement of chrysanthemums and peonies.

Surrounding Borders: Alternating panels radiate from the center, showcasing detailed alternating scenes of dynamic Shishi (mythical guardian lions) in iron-red cartouches, alternating with rich floral arrangements, bamboo fences, and fluttering butterflies.

Reverse Side: The exterior rim is decorated with a continuous, elegant flowing underglaze blue floral scroll.
