An excellent work by the Jaén-born painter Roberto Michel (pseudonym of Juan Planet, his birth name), who had lived for many years in Catalonia.

Since then, the painter leaned toward still lifes with flowers, tableware, and, on occasion, fruit, with his works being quite recognizable for their chromatic variety and detailed compositions.

The work presented for auction belongs to the artist's final period, already septuagenarian, but it does not detract from his works from earlier periods.
