RARE & AUTHENTIC: Meissen Porcelain Coffee Service – First Choice
Description:
Magnificent fine porcelain set from the prestigious German manufacturer Meissen, nicknamed the “White Gold.” This duo comprises a tall coffee pot and its matching creamer.
Model: “Neuer Ausschnitt” (New Opening), emblematic form created in the 18th century.
Decoration: Hand-painted throughout (« Bunte Blume »). Naturalistic floral decoration of great finesse depicting a violet and yellow iris, as well as garden flowers and crocuses.
Exceptional detail: The coffee pot lid is adorned with a sculpted yellow rose button in relief, a hallmark of high quality from the manufacturer.
Markings and Authenticity:
Signature: Two crossed swords in cobalt blue underglaze.
Quality: First Choice (no glaze scratches on the swords).
Dating: 1934 – 1945.
Traceability: Mold number impressed (173) and painter’s hand-painted number in red (126).
Condition:
Exceptional. The porcelain is radiant, the colors are vivid and the reliefs (notably the rose on the lid) are perfectly preserved.
