Ralf Altrieth, Yeah yeah yeah - XXXL, a mixed‑media on canvas work (147 × 223 cm, 2018) signed by the artist with a certificate of authenticity, from France in excellent condition, original and unique.
Description from the seller
A joyful rebellion, full of chaos, humor and insolence. A painting that gives the impression that a troupe of characters, animals, lovable monsters, dreams, graffiti and wacky ideas have all gathered in the same canvas.
At first glance, Ralf Altrieth's painting seems to burst forth in a free, jubilant surge. Then the gaze lingers—and gradually reveals a more complex world, populated by unexpected characters, shifting forms and improbable associations. Nothing is fixed. The work continually evolves depending on the distance, the light and the time spent in front of it.
In this universe, the boundary between abstraction, figuration and imagination remains intentionally unstable. Silhouettes appear, stories seem to begin, then immediately transform. The viewer is engaged, set in motion. Seeing becomes an active, almost playful, experience.
But beyond their immediate energy, Ralf Altrieth's works linger in the space for a long time. They impose themselves through their density. By their presence. And by that rare ability to transform the atmosphere of the place in which they take their place.

CRITIQUE ET PRESSE:
"In this sense, Ralf Altrieth's pictorial poems are a pure childish song. From the crucible of improvisation, he brings forth a world intact, made of spontaneous joys and strong impulses."
— Dr. Friedhelm Häring, art historian and museum director
"His gestural and color writing describes a world open to new voices and experiments never attempted. His canvases and works on paper demonstrate that painting remains a major expression of the contemporary scene."
