Swiss Raid - Commando - No reserve price - Men - 1989

The Marathon Gallet Swiss Raid Commando Navigator is a very rare and unusual watch, only very occasionally seen for sale. Essentially the same as the steel-case navigators produced by Gallet and sold by the Marathon Watch Company to Canadian and US armed forces, this watch was issued to participants of the annual Swiss Raid Commando infantry competition (which was held between 1986-2009). According to information provided by Gallet Watches, two batches were supplied by them, in 1988 and 1989. The 1988 batch had the same case back as the Adanac watches supplied to US armed forces, marked with a 1988 issue date. The 1989 batch has the undated non-military back seen on this watch, confirming it as a 1989 issue.
