Bronze - Talisman - OTTOMAN MAGIC TALISMAN

A rare Ottoman-period talismanic brass plaque, approximately 6.5 cm in diameter. The surface is entirely covered with hand-engraved Arabic inscriptions, numerical symbols, and a central magic square (vefk) composition. The lower section features stylized human figures surrounded by esoteric symbols and protective formulas.

Such objects were traditionally associated with Ottoman folk spirituality, talismanic practices, and protective beliefs. Similar plaques were carried or preserved as amulets believed to offer spiritual protection and ward off negative influences.

The rich engraving, symbolic imagery, and dense inscriptional decoration reflect the artistic and mystical traditions of the Ottoman world. The piece displays an attractive aged patina and clear evidence of hand craftsmanship.
