Chris J. van Dijk is a Dutch painter. He paints in a style influenced by both impressionism and romanticism, which he himself calls Romantic Impressionism, with outdoor scenes: beaches, forests, fields of poppies. His canvases often feature women and children, captured in natural poses, as if unaware, absorbed in their activities—playing in the sand, strolling in the woods, picking wildflowers.
In 2002, he opened his own highly successful gallery in Dordogne, a beautiful region in southwestern France between the Loire Valley and the Pyrenees.
