Description from the seller
Superb and important circular decorative glass sculpture of Murano art (Italy), created by the famous workshop of the master contemporary glassmaker Simone Cenedese. This artistic piece of great visual purity rests on an elegant rectangular base integrated in frosted glass (sand-blasted). It brilliantly employs two major traditional techniques from the island of Murano: Sommerso: A central core of intense cobalt blue, deeply submerged in a thick mass of completely transparent and crystal-clear glass. Bullicante (or Baloton): A geometric and regular constellation of air bubbles trapped in a perfectly controlled manner around the colored core, creating a fascinating optical effect of a three-dimensional galaxy. Signature: The piece is officially hand-signed with a diamond-tip under the frosted base: “S. Cenedese” accompanied by its workshop monogram, which guarantees its authenticity. Artist / Manufacturer: Simone Cenedese (Murano, Venice) Era: Contemporary (21st century / 2000s) Origin: Italy (Murano) Condition: Excellent state of conservation. No chips, cracks, or restoration. Piece from a private collection.
