Original tourist poster for Belgian Congo, dating from around 1950offsetlithography 
Design: James Thiriar (1889-1965) 
Dimensions: 55 cm high x 51.5 cm wide 
Condition A: normal fold marks, otherwise perfect. 
Printer: Imprimerie Ets. Léon Beyaert-Sioen s.a. -Courtrai 
Shipping: folded, sent in an envelope with Bpost track & trace.

This poster was given as a gift in the early 1950s from the picture book 'Faunaflor - Congo' by the chocolate manufacturer Côte d'Or. They had obtained permission for this from the Information and Tourism Service of the then Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi. A fine time document in almost perfect condition by the renowned war painter and illustrator James Thiriar (Brussels 1889-1965).

Deze affiche werd in het begin van de jaren '50 van vorige eeuw als geschenk gegeven bij het prentenalbum 'Faunaflor -Congo' van chocoladefabrikant Côte -d'Or. Die had daarvoor toestemming gekregen van de Dienst Informatie en Toerisme van het toenmalige Belgisch Congo en Ruanda-Burundi. Mooi tijdsdocument in vrijwel perfecte staat van de hand van de bekende oorlogsschilder- en tekenaar James Thiriar (Brussel 1889-1965).
