Description from the seller

These porcelain vases, entirely handmade, stand out for their elongated shapes and their delicately crumpled texture that catches the light and reveals the full richness of the material. The minimalist decor, depicting a poetic silhouette in motion, adds a narrative and sensitive dimension to the whole.

Each piece is the result of a three-firing production process that is demanding:

* First biscuit firing at 900 °C, which transforms raw clay into a solid, porous ceramic.
* Second firing at 1,220 °C, after applying glaze, allowing the porcelain to vitrify and achieve its glossy finish.
* Third firing at 800 °C, intended to permanently fix the decorative decal decorating the surface.

At the crossroads of art and art craftsmanship, these creations combine technical mastery, contemporary elegance, and graphic expression. Each vase is a unique piece, bearing witness to the dialogue between porcelain, light, and artistic gesture.

Technique: Glazed porcelain, decoration by decal
Firing: Bisque 900 °C – Glaze 1,220 °C – Decoration 600 °C
Finish: Gloss glaze
Unique works made by hand.

- I created my image for Falen Art with the aim of building a unique, modern, and elegant visual identity capable of representing my artistic work and values.
After studying graphics in Namur and a strong inclination for travel and cultural diversity, Natalie Matis’ vocation for porcelain was born in China during a trip.
Upon returning to Belgium, she joined the Porcepolis workshop in Brussels, where she deepened her particular taste for porcelain; she loves this material for its whiteness, its nobility, its translucency, its intimacy with glaze and its softness.
She offers a range of decorative objects with a minimalist design.
For several years, Nathalie Matis refined her study of ceramics in various studios and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Braine L’Alleud with ceramist Geert van Der Borght.
Passionate about ceramics, she self-educated in various techniques and has a marked fascination with raku, a mysterious meeting of mastery and spontaneity, a fragile adventure between the ceramist’s dream and metamorphosis.
