Description from the seller
Opera Unica by Luciano Greco (1971)
from the title "Surf on Life",
it represents a synthesis between the dynamism of the human figure and the geometric stability of matter.
The Taranto-based artist, known for his expressive use of industrial and reclaimed materials, here explores the concept of existential balance through structural and formal contrast.
The dense metal weave does not close the volumes, but traps the void, allowing adversity to pass through the figure.
Learn to accept life’s ups and downs as waves, letting oneself be carried by opposing the right resistance in the face of the unpredictable.
About the author:
Luciano Greco (1971) is a sculptor, painter and craftsman, trained in the workshops of the great Taranto masters during the 1980s and 1990s. After graduating from the Art High School, he earned his degree at the Academy of Fine Arts of Lecce, a period in which he actively attended numerous artistic circles. His research focuses on experimenting with reclaimed materials – such as scraps, cuttings and industrial castoffs – with which he creates figurative sculptures.
At the center of his production is the current human condition, where the boundaries between pathology and normality are blurred. Today his creations are part of numerous private collections across Europe.
