Description from the seller
Albert van Weeren (1944–1995) was a photographer active in Amsterdam, known especially for his expressive black-and-white photographs and studies of the human body. His original vintage prints appear today only rarely on the international art market.
The present work shows the performer and artist Tomii de la Paz in an impressive pose within a rocky river landscape. The dramatic lighting, the powerful body staging, and the strong spatial effect give the work an extraordinary presence. The combination of natural space and human figure creates an almost archaic, sculptural image effect that goes far beyond classical nude photography.
This is an original vintage silver gelatin print from the time of creation, not a later print, reprint, or edition.
