Natura silente is a 2020+ oil on canvas still life from Italy by Antonio Sciacca, a contemporary work.
Description from the seller
Splendid and enigmatic still life, titled on the back by the author himself “Natura silente” (Silent Nature), created by Master Antonio Sciacca. The work fits perfectly into the cultured and refined production of the artist, famous for his ability to fuse elements of classicism and realism with atmospheres that are strongly symbolic and metaphysical.
The composition centers on a sea turtle laid atop a circular box or container of a lively orange color, the central element around which other objects of tactile fascination orbit: an elegant cobalt blue ceramic chalice or candelabrum, finely shaded; a gold, reflective sphere positioned in the foreground (which captures light, creating complex plays of reflections and spatial references); and two ancient bound books placed to the right. The neutral background and the skillful treatment of light confer on the objects a solemn monumentality, suspended in time, typical of the great Italian still life painting tradition reinterpreted in a contemporary key.
Artist: Antonio Sciacca
Title of the work: "Natura silente"
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 60 x 80 cm
Era: Contemporary
Support: Canvas stretched on wooden frame
Signature
The work is signed in full on the front, bottom right, in a clear red handwriting: "Antonio Sciacca".
Counter-signature and authentication
On the back of the canvas the work presents an important and complete autograph authenticating hand-written by the artist in green paint:
"Opera da me eseguita / Antonio Sciacca / "Natura silente"".
In addition to the painting, on the back of the frame there is the original photograph of the work showing the same Master Antonio Sciacca holding the canvas (with the corresponding pen autograph on the back of the photo itself: "Opera da me eseguita / Antonio Sciacca"). This triple element of authenticity (front signature, back autograph, and signed photo) guarantees the absolute originality and direct provenance of the work.
The work is in excellent overall condition. The colors are vivid, bright, and well preserved. The canvas is well stretched on its original wooden frame, which shows no structural defects.
Antonio Sciacca is a figure of international standing, known for his cultured pictorial quotations and for having exhibited in major exhibitions (including the Venice Biennale) and for his historical connection to and esteem from great critics such as Alberto Burri and esteemed by important art historians. The richness of details, combined with an impeccable authenticity-and-photography apparatus, makes his works among the most sought after on the market and by collectors of contemporary art.
