Framed Vision explores how reality is filtered, interpreted, and reconstructed through the systems we use to understand it. At the center of the composition, the figure’s gaze is framed by a physical structure — the glasses — which functions simultaneously as a everyday object and a metaphor for the mechanisms through which we observe the world.
The work suggests that vision is never neutral. Each experience, memory, belief, or context acts as an invisible lens that shapes what we perceive as truth. The pixelated fragments that interrupt the image reinforce this idea, evoking informational noise, communication failures, and the fragmentation of identity in an era dominated by the constant circulation of images and data.
The intensity of the gaze establishes an immediate connection with the viewer, but this apparent clarity is contradicted by the presence of visual distortions. Between sharpness and interference, the work questions to what extent what we see corresponds to reality or results from the interpretation constructed by our own cognitive filters.
The monochromatic palette concentrates attention on the expression and structure of the portrait, while the chromatic touches introduce moments of rupture that suggest incomplete information, fragmented memories, or narratives in constant editing. The orange graphic gesture, recurring in the series, appears as a sign of awareness, a moment of revelation that emerges amid the visual noise.
In Framed Vision, the frame is not just what encloses the image, but also what conditions its reading. The work invites the viewer to reflect on the filters — visible and invisible — that influence how we observe others, ourselves, and the world around us.
