Description from the seller

Edition number: 05/100
Artist: SKE
Publisher: Atelier Montmartre Paris
Art paper 300 g/m² – ISO A3 format – Signed, numbered – Certificate included
In Trapped in the Dream, SKE distorts Mickey, the universal icon of innocence, childhood, and happy imagination. Usually associated with dream and carefree spirit, the character here finds himself caught in a promise that is quite different: money.
Lying on a pile of bills, Mickey embodies the silent slide from a child’s dream to an adult dream. What once comforted now reassures, yet immobilizes. Comfort replaces freedom, almost naturally, without violence.
Through this contrast, SKE questions our relationship to success and to the famous American dream. When the childhood icon gets trapped, the message becomes clear: even the purest dreams can turn into gilded cages.
Pop-edged with strong cultural references and street-energy, the work is both playful and lucid.
A piece that first makes you smile… before making you think.

- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught, versatile French artist who grew up immersed in 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large portion of his artistic output.
He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations and digital art. His dynamic, expressive compositions, often with a double reading, fuse the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional 2025, SKE’s market value has risen notably. Winner of the first prize in Urban Master (2023), then elected Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" in October, and he also appeared in an American art magazine, confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States and Asia, reinforcing his position on the contemporary art scene. Simultaneously, SKE is also making his mark in the digital art market, a major trend of the past two years, strengthening the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and textured plays characterize a style now indispensable.
SKE is undoubtedly an artist to watch, to begin or enrich a collection with rising value.
Artist Rated & Awarded – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY
SKE’s work sits within a prestigious lineage. His line conveys the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works build a bridge between eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to distort Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vermeer’s Young Girl, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA
Drawing from the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics and graphic novels is omnipresent: from Nintendo’s universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY
In a style reminiscent at times of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits next to luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetic: the sneaker world (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also integrates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass-consumption icons like Coca-Cola. It is vibrant art, with textured finishes reminiscent of Jeff Koons’ polished surfaces or the facets of Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal for enriching a collection or adding a dynamic touch to your home.
