Description from the seller

Antique 800 silver tobacco box, rectangular, circa second half of the nineteenth century.

Refined rectangular tobacco box in 800 silver, made in the second half of the 1800s.
The piece features high-quality workmanship, typical of the Victorian era or of Central-European/Italian production of the period.
The lid is beautifully decorated with a rich hand engraving in floral and rocaille motifs: large stylized flowers flank a central shield with an engraved monogram “LC” (or an intertwined “C”). The outer frame is enriched by elegant leaf and sprig motifs, while the lower edge of the lid and the base feature a decorative band with scrolls and geometric elements.
The finishes are of high quality, with slightly rounded corners and a sturdy multi-piece hinge that ensures a perfect closure. The dimensions are the classic pocket size: compact and elegant.
Clearly visible is the “800” hallmark on the inner edge/base, confirming the silver grade 800/1000 (typical of Italian production and of various European countries in the 19th century).
Condition: Overall excellent state of preservation. Beautiful antique patina on the silver, normal for an object over 140 years old. Slight signs of use consistent with age (small scratches and traces of natural oxidation),
Shipping: careful and trackable
