Epic and playful at the same time, this work transforms a Napoleonic battle scene into a diorama entirely made up of LEGO figures, but depicted with the solemn pictorial style of the era. The contrast between historical drama and the playful nature of the protagonists creates an ironic and surprising effect. Realized in 2025, it is part of a sold-out series that reinterprets icons and historical moments through the lens of play and pop culture.

This new work stems from the creativity of the French artist Louis Dourand, known for having collaborated in the past with Santicri, in an artistic dialogue that has managed to fuse different visual languages into a shared expressive vision. Santicri – with whom Louis Dourand has collaborated on several occasions – is one of the most established contemporary artists on the international stage.
He has exhibited his works in prestigious contexts such as Palazzo Grillo in Genoa in 2022 and the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York in 2023.
In 2024 he was recognized among Artmayeur’s Best-Selling Artists and entered the top 3 of the most sought-after artists on Catawiki, alongside figures such as Kaws and Banksy.
