Description from the seller
Elegant gold pendant made from an authentic British one pound Sovereign coin, minted in 1874 during the reign of Queen Victoria.
The coin bears on the obverse the profile of Queen Victoria with the legend VICTORIA D G BRITT REG, while the reverse portrays Saint George slaying the dragon, Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous engraving, with the date 1874 visible at the bottom.
The coin is original and historic, subsequently mounted as a pendant with a simple and functional mount, likely made for personal use.
The piece presents itself as an antique jewel, ideal for both collectors of mounted coins and for anyone seeking a gold piece with strong historical value.
