Zodiac-Radio Élysée miniature French metal tube radio, model 6125, dating to the 1950s with a metal housing on a gold-colored base, dimensions 21 x 16 x 9 cm, in very poor condition and untested, sold as decoration.
Description from the seller
Very rare, beautiful and highly compact French miniature tube radio by Zodiac-Radio, model Élysée (Type 6125), dating from the early 1950s.
Untested and sold as decoration.
With its modest dimensions (approx. 21 x 16 x 9 cm), this model was a revolutionary and fashionable alternative to the large, bulky wooden radios of its time. Thanks to its gold-colored front, elegantly openwork speaker grille, and French tuning dial (featuring historic station names like Paris, Luxembourg, and Brussels), this device is a highly sought-after Mid-Century Modern design icon today.
Circa 1952 - 1954
Material: Metal housing (sheet metal) on a gold-colored base.
Wavebands: Medium Wave (MW), Long Wave (LW), and Short Wave (SW)
Condition of the object:
Exterior: In nice, original vintage condition with an authentic patina. The metal housing shows minor surface rust and oxidation on the top and edges, consistent with its age (see photos). The original knobs and speaker cloth are present.
Interior: The inside is remarkably complete and original, including the electron tubes and the built-in ferrite rod antenna. The circuitry is untouched.
Operation: For safety reasons, the device is untested and is explicitly sold as a decorative object, for parts, or for restoration!
