WMF - Decanter - Superb wine bottle carriage - Silverplated

A superb WMF silver plated wine decanter, measuring circa 33cm in length and weighing 3825g, shaped as a cannon carriage with huge, ornately decorated front wheels and a handle cast as a female caryatid of remarkable fineness. When a bottle is placed, the ensemble resembles a cannon. This machine is useful for pouring older red wines without disturbing the sediment, or just a highly decorative way to serve wine.
Marked to the underside with WMF running ostrich within lozenge, used from 1903-1910.

Condition: Excellent, no damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age.
