The transparencies, light contrasts, and small gold-leaf details add depth and luminosity, causing the work to subtly change with the light of the space where it is displayed.
About the artist:
María José Fernández (Otura, Granada, 1985) is an Andalusian painter specializing in atmospheric landscapes and nature-inspired art. She lives in La Quintería (Jaén), where she finds inspiration in southern light, the quiet of the countryside, and the emotional connection to spaces.
Self-taught since the age of 17, she develops work focused on conveying calm, contemplation, and natural beauty through compositions full of light, water, and chromatic depth.
She has participated in solo and group exhibitions, including the Centro Cultural Federico García Lorca (2017), Artes Jomasa (2019), and the Museo Virtual MundoArti (2021).
