Description from the seller

"Cemento Armato" – From the street to your home
The new cycle of IABO’s works plays on the double meaning of the title: "Cemento Armato", which, by crossing out the "R", becomes "Cemento Amato". A pun that transforms the idea of solidity and resistance of concrete into an affectionate bond with the material and the artist’s creative path.

The choice to paint on concrete panels is not casual but deeply symbolic. Those who know IABO know that his artistic journey began in the ’90s as a graffiti writer and metropolitan writer, then established himself from 2003 as one of the first Neapolitan street artists.
In the following years, his work shifted from the street to the canvas, entering the world of contemporary art. With over 100 exhibitions worldwide – in museums, galleries, and public and private spaces – IABO has consolidated a unique and recognizable language.

With "Cemento Armato", the artist returns to his origins, paying homage to his past as a writer, when he painted on the city’s concrete walls. This project revives the most authentic, raw, and lived urban aesthetics, returning that metropolitan flavor that characterizes street art.

The protagonists of these works are his famous "profiles", a series of characters reinvented with his distinctive brush. The works are created with stencils and spray cans and, although the subjects recur, each piece is unique, thanks to the different textures and irregularities of the concrete. Additionally, IABO uses stencil shapes that are a "lost form" and cannot be reused, making every creation unrepeatable.

The works are already framed with a suspension system, which creates a floating effect and enhances the materiality of the concrete. Each piece measures 65x65 cm (including the frame), is signed on the back, and comes with an authenticity certificate stamped and signed by the artist.
