Giennadij Pitsko – visual artist of Polish origin, born in 1970. In 1991 he graduated from an artistic high school in the ceramics department. Since 1991 he has been involved in painting and ceramics. Since 1992 he has been engaged in various artistic projects. His works are vivid stories about what surrounds him. Pitsko's dynamic painting is distinguished by warm, lively, and saturated color schemes, an atmosphere of fantasy and the spectacular portrayal of women, as well as the ability to manipulate the texture of paint applied with a spatula on canvas. The artist uses a brush and a spatula. Pitsko's painting is very recognizable thanks to its distinctive color logic, reflecting a fascination with French artists such as Claude Monet and Amadeo Modigliani. Twenty years ago in Sopot he saw an exhibition by Jerzy Duda-Gracz and, at first sight, fell in love with creating with spatulas. Since then he has consistently worked in this technique. He also rejected the traditional way of presenting figures, instead drawing on the experiences of contemporary painters. Pitsko's works are in the collections of institutions as well as private collectors and in other European countries and beyond Europe. The artist has participated in many national and international exhibitions and plein airs, both solo and group shows. He currently lives and works in Rumia.
