Contemporary sculpture by Angelo Scardino titled Membrana del Pensiero, a unique piece (pezzo unico) in PLA and resin, 2026, hand-signed, wall-mounted, 28 cm wide by 35 cm high by 23 cm deep, weighing about 1 kg, made in Italy.
Description from the seller
Contemporary sculpture crafted in PLA and resin, a unique piece by Italian artist Angelo Scardino.
The work depicts a human head suspended between presence and dissolution, built through an organic lattice structure that evokes cellular membranes, neural networks, biological architectures and generated digital forms. The black, glossy, perforated surface envelops the face like skin—fragile yet resilient—while allowing glimpses inside of bright, resinous volumes with a tangible texture.
The sculpture arises from the encounter of digital modeling, 3D printing, and manual intervention, blending contemporary technology with traditional plastic sensibility. The contrast between the black lattice and the light inner material creates a dialogue between void and fullness, identity and fragmentation, body and memory.
The piece is conceived as wall sculpture: an intense, elegant, contemporary presence suitable for private collections, professional studios, modern environments, or exhibition spaces.
The work is part of Angelo Scardino’s artistic research, focused on the relationship between matter, body, memory, organic architecture, and the transformation of form.
