Bhutanese antique silver traditional koma - cloak pin - worn by women to fasten the wrap-around dress, the kira, at the shoulders. This kira is characteristic of the Monpa, an indigenous ethnic group in Bhutan. In addition to its practical use, the kira also serves as a status symbol. This pin was made in the early 20th century and consists of two parts, richly decorated with engravings of Buddhist symbols and in the middle a small turquoise, connected by a silver chain or cord.
