Description from the seller

SPEED NO LIMITS is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado inspired by a passion for speed, mechanical precision, and the feeling of absolute freedom that emerges when movement and concentration become one. The work captures the intensity of a race from a bold graphic aesthetic that recalls mid-20th-century advertising and sports posters.

The composition shows a motorcyclist leaning over his machine while taking a high-speed bend. The rider’s posture and the motorcycle’s tilt convey an immediate sense of dynamism and control, while the road becomes a sequence of lines that seem to disappear beneath the wheels. Everything in the scene is built to suggest momentum, energy, and determination.

The artist uses a limited but vibrant palette, dominated by deep blues, bright reds, dark blacks, and cream tones. The large red circle that occupies the background acts as a powerful visual element that concentrates attention and amplifies the sense of strength and speed. The strong contrasts and expressive lines reinforce the iconic character of the image.

Beyond competition, SPEED NO LIMITS speaks of the human desire to overcome barriers. The motorcycle symbolizes the ability to move forward, explore, and challenge one’s own limits. The rider represents those who pursue their goals with determination, aware that progress requires courage, discipline, and confidence.

The road becomes a metaphor for the personal path. It is not just a physical space, but a journey full of decisions, risks, and opportunities. The motto that gives the work its title refers not only to mechanical speed but also to the capacity to expand horizons and break the restrictions imposed by fear or doubt.

With a powerful aesthetic and a composition laden with movement, SPEED NO LIMITS celebrates the thrill of advancing without reservations. The piece conveys energy, ambition, and an adventurous spirit, inviting the viewer to remember that many of life’s most memorable experiences begin when you decide to accelerate toward the unknown.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
