AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

INVADER - 'I invade Djerba'

1 sheet of 12 stamps by Invader.

Stamp sheet in perfect condition.

Only one sheet of stamps will be sent.

The French artist returning to Tunisia participated, in collaboration with the Itinerrance gallery, in a project to invade the island of Djerba in 2019. In 2021, it is through postage stamps that he reappears in the Djerbian landscape.

During the auctions at District Art Fair in September 2022, the 12-stamp sheet by Invader sold for €650.

The stamps will be perfectly protected with protective cardboard. After shipment, a tracking number will be provided.

Invader is part of the contemporary urban art scene alongside artists such as KAWS, Banksy, D*Face, PEZ, Richard Orlinski, Shepard Fairey (Obey), Sandra Chevrier, or Mr. Brainwash. Like them, he subverts popular visual codes and mass culture to transform them into a recognizable artistic language. Where Banksy emphasizes political messages and Shepard Fairey the propagandist iconography, Invader develops a pixelated aesthetic inspired by the Space Invaders video game. Like KAWS or Mr. Brainwash, he blurs the boundaries between art, market, and pop culture, while maintaining a systematic and almost mathematical approach to urban space.
