In this work the fruit loses its functional identity to become space. The material opens to the gaze, revealing a complex territory, made of rhythms, cavities and organic densities.
Between representation and abstraction, Inner Landscape invites us to observe nature as a form of inner geography, where every detail contains a universe and every surface hides an unexpected depth.
Sandra Chinelate, Brazilian, works on the physical and existential inquiry conducted with the tools of figurative painting. A graduate in literature, and in her youth a self-taught artist, she moved to Italy and, influenced by her multifaceted sociolinguistic gaze, conducts her painting research with the aim of promoting an encounter between different social subjects, where different ages, skin colors, passions and human uncertainties are contemplated from a strong desire on the part of the artist to exalt their facets, safeguarding her characters from any pre-judgment. She applies equal fervor to the search for detail, light, and perspective in her beloved hyperrealism technique, in which she has specialized since her early artistic experiments. Since 2005 she has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows. She works with oil and mixed media on canvas and panel.
For the catalog of one of her most important solo exhibitions, the Roman art critic Lea Mattarella wrote a review; at the end of the review she wrote: and if there is pain, if there is fatigue, Chinelate takes to heart the words of Rumi, the medieval Sufi poet, convinced that 'the wound is the place where the light can enter you.'
This principle guides Sandra Chinelate, applied to the human soul she depicts as to objects, all in equal balance in importance and order.
